Our Easter

The flower my sunshine made @ preschool and gave to me :-). He is a mamma's boy!!!
Dying Easter eggs!!!!

Pretty!

SO much fun!!!

What did the Easter bunny bring????

Wow! More candy than we have seen in our entire lives!!!

It's Heavy, too!

This is seriously the best picture I could get :-(. My mom bought the princess' dress...it came with a baby doll dress, too. My precious sunshine...He is growing up WAY too fast and he can't take a serious picture anymore...although it wouldn't have mattered. My daughter had messed up her headband anyway....
Now why does the Easter bunny bring gifts??? Much the same way that Santa wants to share his joy about Jesus' birth, the Easter bunny likes to share his joy in the fact that Jesus died and rose again for our sins....b/c we ALL sin. We all fuss, or whine or say ugly words at some point. So, God gave Jesus to die for our sins...so we could live with God in heaven. This is what we tell our children. My son, the way too mature for his age...doesn't totally buy Santa and the Easter Bunny. He thinks it's a fun game...and he wants to believe it. I also believe having some faith in something you can't see or touch at an early age is good...it sets a ground for the idea that we CAN believe and see the REAL magic through Jesus. We can feel and see how he works daily. May I just say I've never heard anyone complain about their parents playing make believe with them, but I have heard people complain that their parents didn't. Those people felt they had missed a piece of childhood. That is what it is...innocence lasts for such a short period of time...and all of this is just innocent childhood make believe. They live in a world where anything is possible...they can dream big, b/c their minds aren't filled with adult knowledge and limits. Your best writers and scientists have no limit for what their minds can create. I hope in our world of fun we are encouraging dreams and make believe. That is the stuff of which childhood and genius is made.
