I have tried unsuccesfully to tell me daughter that her hair is beautiful and she is beautiful just the way God made her. I go on and on and on ...she is beautiful and I LOVE her hair. I never thought I would have a blonde daughter, but I can not imagine my daughter any other way...and she would look all wrong with my dark hair! So anyway...We went to Target to get my Advair (which was only $25 this time, YAY!) While we were waiting and wandering she spotted some Barbie movies and ran for them. Well, they were only $4.75 so I let her choose one (and my son chose a Tom & Jerry DVD...his options were limited b/t that and Thomas). So she happened to choose Barbie as Repunzal and we watched it twice once Tuesday night and once Wednesday afternoon. My sweet girl asked me if she could have hair like Repunzal and I said, "you already do...." She said, "I do???" I said,"yes it's blonde and really long." So since then she has been brushing her hair and admiring how long it is...and she called herself beautiful! YAY!
Now I am not for vain little girls who are mean...I am for my little girl feeling good about who and how God made her...and knowing she is beautiful in every way!!!!
At risk of some people thinking I am crazy I do think this was God putting something in our path for my daughter...I have been praying of a way to show her how beautiful her hair was (no Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella didn't work). Now we need a princess (or a Barbie) with glasses!!!
